HTI selects Alepo to launch FTTx and VoIP in Myanmar

Horizon Telecom International (HTI) has awarded another contract to Alepo to enable the launch of advanced FTTx and VoIP services in Myanmar.

The solution by Alepo, a global provider of core network and IT software solutions for communications service providers, gives HTI a powerful and scalable platform to bill and manage multi-play service delivery.

“At HTI, we see a lot of potential in the telecommunications market in South East Asia and therefore plan to launch the next-gen services of VoIP and FTTx services in Myanmar,” said Nyan Win, vice-chairman and CEO at HTI Myanmar.

“With Alepo as our technology partner, we want to gain a competitive edge and become the drivers of ICT growth in the region.”

The partnership with Alepo, which has previously partnered with Orange, Saudi Telecom, and Digicel, marks its fourth deployment in Myanmar, following the launch of Wifi services earlier this year with HTI, as well as deployments with other service providers.

HTI’s objective is to provide an unmatched offering of data and voice services to their customers in Myanmar. To accomplish this goal, HTI will deploy a broad suite of Alepo products, including: Alepo’s carrier-class convergent charging, billing, AAA, CRM, VoIP mobile app, interconnect, and other modules. HTI will now be able to readily launch innovative data offers for multiple services as well as ensure a rich end-to-end customer experience.

HTI’s decision to launch VoIP and FTTx services is driven by the immense potential of the telecommunications industry in Myanmar. Over the next five years, Myanmar’s telecom industry is expected to surge, largely through diversification of service portfolios with more granular voice and data bundles, and the launch of new services, like FTTx and IPTV.

Vani Manian, technical director of sales in APAC, added: “We are extremely proud to support HTI Myanmar in pioneering next-generation services across Myanmar. With Alepo-enabled FTTx and, VoIP service, HTI Myanmar will gain a competitive advantage and a compelling business strategy for future growth.”
