Infrastructure Masons names EdgeConneX as founding partner

EdgeConneX has become one of seven founding partners for the non-profit professional association, Infrastructure Masons (iMasons).

The organisation acts as an independent forum for infrastructure executives and technical professionals, allowing them to connect, grow and collaborate with those in the community, a mission that will now be supported by EdgeConneX.

As a founding partner, EdgeConneX will support iMasons with financial and talent resources, in line with the organisation's educational, networking and donation programmes.

Phill Lawson-Shanks, EdgeConneX’s chief architect and vice president of innovation, has also confirmed that he will sit on the iMasons partner advisory council, which acts as thought leader for the organisation. He will join eight council members from iMasons' sponsor organisations, advising the association’s board of directors and end-user advisory council. 

Commenting on his new appointment Lawson-Shanks said: “Innovation and progress within the data centre and digital infrastructure community is built upon collaboration among industry professionals. I’m enthusiastic about joining the iMasons and look forward to the opportunity to help our community thrive by strengthening and supporting foundational digital infrastructure and the companies and individuals who create it.”

The organisation has more than 1,400 members across 139 countries and in addition to EdgeConneX, other founding partners include: Aligned Energy, Vertiv, CommScope, Stream Data Centers, Dell and Universal Electric.

EdgeConneX recently announced a strategic partnership with Telia Carrier bringing bring increased access to the carrier’s network, across EdgeConneX’s 30 Edge data centres in 27 global markets.
