CenturyLink reveals newest appointments to leadership team

Centurylink has announced its newest additions to the executive leadership team which comes into effect once the acquisition of Level 3 is completed by the end of the third quarter of 2017.

All of the newly named executive team will report directly to Jeff Storey, the recently named president and chief operating officer of CenturyLink.

"Our people have made these two great companies what they are today. I'm confident this leadership team will position the combined company for future success in delivering leading communications solutions, a world-class customer experience and profitable growth," Storey said.

Along with the new appointments the company has also announced the following new organisational structure.

Edward Morche will rejoin the company on 5 July, as president of strategic enterprise, federal government and state government. His responsibilities will include large accounts, federal and state government, and large educational institutions and research networks.

Laurinda Pang has been named as president of global accounts management and international. The division of small and midsize business, local government and education has appointed Vernon Irvin. He is responsible for businesses with up to 500 employees. Lisa Miller has been named as president for wholesale and indirect, which includes alliances

Consumer has been given to Maxine Moreau as president. She is responsible for the company's local market consumer business across 37 states.

Supporting the integration activities of these business units are the following support groups:

Aamir Hussain is the executive vice president of technology, product development and security operations. He will work in the areas of: product development, platforms and infrastructure and will be responsible for IT, testing and integration, architecture, infrastructure, security, as well as overall business enablement.

Clay Bailey will be in charge of transformation and integration as senior vice president. He will lead the integration of CenturyLink and Level 3.

Richard Batelaan is the executive vice president of North America operations, including service delivery, service assurance, access management, and field operations.

Marketing is the only support function to be left with no named person in charge. Storey plans on naming an executive vice president at a later date.

CenturyLink CEO and president Glen Post commented on the restructuring saying:"I appreciate Jeff's diligent work on designing and staffing his organization structure. I believe these decisions will position us well to compete in the marketplace and provide outstanding service to our customers. I am confident in the future of the combined company and look forward to bringing together the talented teams from CenturyLink and Level 3."
