Secure and reliable data roaming is no longer considered a luxury when travelling abroad, for customers and subscribers alike it’s essential. “Our customers demand uncompromised, reliable, high-speed data roaming, and we are standing by to deliver,” said Gergely Vadas, head of the mobile world unit at Deutsche Telekom ICSS.
As one of the first in the industry to apply 100Gbps interfaces to IPX, ICSS is now a frontrunner in the IPX provider community. Current plans after the first 100G rollout are to quickly follow this up with up multiple network advances, in order to meet the increasing needs of customers.
Claudia Bauch, head of mobile wholesale roaming at Telekom Deutschland, added: ““With the upgraded IPX capacity, ICSS is ready to support the data roaming boom that probably will result from the decrease of roaming prices for customers in EU.”
Deutsche Telekom ICSS as of May 2017 has increased its IPX capacity to 100Gbps, a game-changer in the IPX community. This move comes in preparation for new European Union regulations, which introduces the lowering of data roaming costs for mobile subscribers within the EU. The legislation is due to come into effect sometime in June 2017, and according to Vadas: “We are preparing for the expected usage increase this summer.”
