TIGER cable system and Rapid Telecom sign strategic partnership agreement

TIGER cable system, a consortium formed to operate an international terrestrial cable system from the Arabian Gulf to Europe via Iraq and Turkey, officially signed a strategic partnership agreement with Rapid Telecom, a licensed Bahraini telecommunications and information services company.




TIGER project manager, Dr Kassim Hassani, said: “We are delighted to sign the strategic partnership agreement with Rapid Telecom, which has an immediate connectivity to all telecom operators in the GCC countries. Once fully implemented, TIGER cable system will provide high-speed broadband and low latency connectivity from the Middle East to Europe.”


Moreover, Shaikh Hamad bin Khalid Al Khalifa, chairman of Rapid Telecom, said: “Forming strategic partnerships with leading telecom operators and providers in Bahrain and the region is of utmost importance to us. This partnership with TIGER Cable System will enable us to expand our regional and international reach, as well as provide customers in Bahrain with innovative solutions that meet their business needs. We look forward to building on this partnership with TIGER, which we believe will be mutually rewarding to both companies.”

TIGER cable system is a consortium formed to build and operate international terrestrial cable system from the Arabian Gulf to Europe crossing Iraq, Kurdistan Iraq and Turkey to Europe. TIGER cable system topology is based on utilizing existing network of operators in the region in order to reduce total cost of the system and reduce the construction time of the cable.
