The agreement between Mimosa and the Nordic-based IT distributor covers the Scandinavian region, including Denmark, Finland, Greenland, Norway and Sweden. It will give Mimosa access to SEC DataCom’s base of value-added resellers, system integrator and service providers.
It will be added to SEC DataCom’s range of networking and communications products, from the likes of Juniper Networks and Barracuda Networks. It also offers server and storage solutions, IT security, voice and video and wireless solutions.
“We are excited about the agreement with Mimosa as it will allow us to address new market opportunities,” said Johan Nielsen, product manager at SEC DataCom. “We are always looking for new and innovative products. We believe that the addition of Mimosa to our portfolio will really enhance our network offerings.”
Mimosa deploys Massive Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) technology to offer outdoor gigabit wireless platforms to service providers. Its product is aimed at addressing the “last mile” issues faced by most providers, which is one of the costliest parts of deployment in densely populated locations.
Mimosa launched this micro point-of-presence architecture solution in July. It combines an A5 access point operating in the 5GHz WiFi band and the C5 client device, to offer wireless broadband connections to subscribers within a 500 meter range.
It added 1Gbps of bandwidth to support TNB Telecom during the Rio Olympics after the Brazilian operator saw a 700% surge in traffic during the games.
