Tigo Ghana appoints CTIO

Millicom has appointed Amir Abdelazim as its new chief technology and information officer (CTIO) of Tigo Ghana.

Abdelazim, who joined Tigo in January 2013 and was most recently CTIO of Tigo Rwanda, is tasked with managing all of Tigo’s network operations. He has previously managed the strategic quality team in Millicom Africa operations and prior to Tigo he worked at firms such as Etisalat and Nokia Siemens Networks.

“Our primary focus continues to be building a world class network that supports the needs of customers, both enterprise and consumers segments,” said Roshi Motman, CEO of Tigo Ghana.

“With Amir’s considerable experience and commitment to network quality, I am confident we will be able to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers.”

Abdelazim added: “Customer satisfaction and experience will be my primary focus as the business accelerates and consolidates on all the gains made particularly within the last two years. The team has already done a fantastic job on the network with multiple million dollar investments to ensure continuous service availability.”
