Level 3 lands hosted services contract with Brazilian engineering council

Level 3 Communications has landed a hosted services contract with the Sao Paolo Regional Council for Engineering and Agronomy (CREA-SP).

The agreement will see Level 3 host and store CREA-SP’s registration system, CREANet, and its Documentum tool, enabling the management of customer service activities in the council’s web environment.

The deal, secured as part of a tender process, also includes a protected Local Area Network (LAN-to-LAN) connection, internet, and backup and installation. Level 3 will also configure, monitor, manage and maintain network services for CREA-SP.

Erick Mendes, IT manager for CREA-SP, said: "By signing this project with Level 3, a global company providing highly reliable services in the market, we were able to achieve our target of modernizing our technology infrastructure. As a result, CREA-SP is able to provide a huge leap in the quality of the service provided to our customers and professionals."

The solution will incorporate a computer network with virtualisation services, connecting CREA-SP’s headquarters in the Brazilian city with Level 3’s data centre in Cotia.

Level 3 owns three data centres in Brazil, and around 360 worldwide, with connectivity to more than 320,000km of fibre network and metro market reach in more than 60 countries.

Level 3 Brazil director of data centre and security André Magno said: "We know customer experience and flexibility are key differentiators that create loyal and satisfied users. We focus on professional services for customers with complex computing environments so we can provide highly availability, secure services to help their business grow."
