Level 3 establishes PoP in ColocationGuard’s Brooklyn facility

ColocationGuard has announced that Level 3 has established a new point of presence (PoP) in the company’s Brooklyn data centre, boosting its customers’ access to Tier-1 network connectivity.

The recent addition to ColocationGuard’s Meet-Me-Room has added additional bandwidth capabilities in its 882 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11232, data centre and customers now have access to Level 3’s dark fibre and high-speed internet protocol services through 10Gbps, 1Gbps and 100Mbps ports with an international reach.

“As the only data centre operator in Brooklyn, ColocationGuard is in a unique position to meet the needs of its customers,” said John Giambalvo, general manager, Northeast region, Level 3 Communications.

“With the launch of this new PoP, ColocationGuard’s diverse portfolio of clients will be able to meet their bandwidth needs while maintaining the capacity to increase in scale to accommodate future business opportunities.”

The collaboration provides new resources to handle the growing bandwidth needs of both established companies and the emerging start-ups that comprise ColocationGuard’s customer base. To help mitigate downtime, the expansion of Level 3 into the flagship 50,000 square feet Brooklyn data centre will also provide increased redundancy to the diverse selection of network providers housed within the facility.

Ray Sidler, CEO of ColoGuard Enterprise Solutions, said the new PoP is part of the company’s ‘strategy to provide Tier 1 network connectivity coupled with superior data center services for the Tri-State area’. He added: “With this new PoP, our customers will have the ability to tap Level 3’s global network for increased capacity, greater reliability and international reach.”
