Axiata appoints three senior executives

Axiata Group has appointed three executives in a bid to strengthen its management team.

The appointments are a result of the group’s expansion and growth, according to Dato' Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim, president and group CEO of Axiata.

Hans Wijayasuriya, presently CEO of Dialog Group in Sri Lanka, will serve additionally as regional CEO in South Asia. Its operations include Dialog, Robi in Bangladesh, Idea in India and Ncell in Nepal, upon completion of the acquisition.

Dominic Arena, previously managing director of AEC Advisory, was appointed chief strategy officer. He replaces Rene Werner who has held a dual role as group chief strategy officer and chief strategy officer for Celcom. Werner will focus fully on Celcom. 

Mohd Asri Hassan has been appointed group head of business operations where he will be in charge of Axiata’s new business units, Qorus Alliance and managing the performance of operating companies and coordinating groupwide and direct synergies. Most recently, Hassan was strategic partner with South Asia private equity company Capital Partners.
