Orange Business Services introduces internet service for access to cloud

Orange Business Services has introduced a business-grade internet service to provide access to cloud applications for enterprise users globally.

Based on Akamai Cloud Networking, the Business VPN Internet Accelerate service is said to improve productivity by ensuring employees can reliably access internal and software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications across the world.

“Getting networks fit for a cloud future with ‘business grade’ connectivity is a vital first step that enterprises need to take to meet their digital business transformation goals," said Pierre-Louis Biaggi, VP of connectivity solutions at Orange Business Services.

"Business VPN Internet Accelerate complements our Business VPN offering and allows enterprises to embrace global hybrid networks and the internet, while maximising reliability, performance and security."

The business-grade internet service claims to deliver up to 10 times faster access to cloud applications, such as CRM, ERP and Business Intelligence.

With optimised SaaS access, enterprise companies will no longer need to wait for cloud-based applications, in turn helping to increase productivity and customer service levels, according to Orange.

The service will rely on the global Akamai intelligent platform, which includes nearly 200,000 servers across more than 110 countries and advanced optimisation technologies. It also utilises the operator’s global and private network with mobile, satellite and mobile access links.

The service will be an addition to Orange Business’s VPN global offer for multinational companies, underpinned by end-to-end service level objectives (SLOs).
