Locoh-Donou will be responsible for overseeing the global sales and services functions, R&D, product line management, supply chain and network integration functions at the company.
He leaves his position as SVP of global products group at Ciena for the new role where he will report directly into Ciena president and CEO Gary Smith.
“In filling this new role that was created to facilitate greater organisational alignment between our product and customer teams to continue driving Ciena’s growth and diversification, François brings deep knowledge of the industry, our company and, most importantly, our customers’ business priorities and future technology strategies,” Smith said.
“This appointment reinforces the strength of Ciena's management team and succession plan, and we look forward to François’ contributions in building on our trusted customer relationships to help them create open, on-demand network environments.”
Locoh-Donou joined Ciena in 1997 and later attended business school. He then re-joined the company in 2002 and has served in a number of technical, marketing and sales management roles.
