The partnership — which uses Orange’s Libon app — will allow calls from over 140 countries and provide Globe with a potential new customer base of over two million Filipinos living abroad.

Orange launched Libon at Mobile World Congress in March 2015 and it has been available as a free iOS and Android download, but this is the first time it has the backing of a large operator such as Globe, which is working with Orange’s International Carriers wholesale division.
Anne Morel, vice president of global carrier sales at Orange International Carrier, said: “Orange’s ability to marry its innovative solutions such as Libon with our credentials as a one of the world’s leading wholesale providers, places us in a strong position to form partnerships such as we have done with Globe Telecom.”
Globe is offering 1,000 minutes of calls for $25.99, purchased within the Libon app, to call subscribers in the Philippines on Globe and TM. Libon users can also make free calls to other Libon customers.
