BT strengthens enterprise offering through Rajant agreement

BT has signed a global framework agreement with kinetic mesh network technology provider Rajant.

The move will enable the UK operator to offer its enterprise customers the ability to connect and gather data from thousands of devices, such as sensors, autonomous vehicles, industrial machinery, high-definition cameras and VoIP systems, to their corporate networks and data centres.

It aims to tap into the growing potential for the Internet of Things (IoT) to deliver efficiency and automation for businesses. BT presently offers managed networked IT services for organisations across defence, oil and gas, mining and manufacturing.

“This means that our customers with devices located in production lines, and in remote areas, such as mines, oil rigs and other industrial sites, can bring more of their equipment and devices online and thus leverage the industrial IoT to improve performance and competitive advantage,” said Hubertus von Roenne, vice president, global industry practices, BT.
