Telstra signs co-location deal with Metronode

Telstra has signed an agreement with Metronode to enable Telstra’s business customers to use co-location services from its Australian data centres.

Under the agreement, Telstra’s customers will be able to deploy hybrid cloud and co-location services through Metronode’s facilities and pay for the service on their bill.

According to Metronode CEO David Yuile, customers will not be required to re-design their cloud infrastructure when they move applications across to the data centres.

“Our customers want choice and flexibility, so this agreement with Metronode means they now have more options for co-location services through Telstra," said Michael Riad, Telstra’s director of cloud services, global products and solutions. "Telstra’s customers have access to a complete range of connectivity solutions at competitive prices into nominated data centres across Australia, including Metronode’s 10 Australian data centres."

Metronode operates data centres in Canberra, Adelaide, Illawarra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. It is scheduled to open a second data centre in Canberra in September 2015.
