Oracle updates OSS suite for NFV

Oracle Communications has released its latest operational support system (OSS) suite which it claims will give operators the agility to migrate to virtualised technologies.

The suite is designed to help simplify and automate the service design and order fulfillment process, regardless of order size and complexity, or the type of network on which it is delivered.

“As communication service providers (CSPs) continue to standardise and virtualise their networks, agility in service design and automation in service delivery have become major focus areas – which is putting a spotlight on OSS to rapidly launch and efficiently deliver innovative services on an increasingly dynamic network,” said Doug Suriano, senior vice president and general manager of Oracle Communications.

“This release of the Oracle Communications OSS suite accelerates design agility, provides support for the latest network technologies, and further simplifies network-based B2B service delivery in practice, supporting our commitment to delivering innovative OSS solutions in an increasingly virtualised communications world.”

The upgraded OSS suite includes built-in support for Metro Ethernet Forum's Carrier Ethernet 2.0 services such as E-Line and E-LAN, as well as improvements to both the automation and precision of order processing tools.
