Helios Towers Africa appoints CEO

Helios Towers Africa (HTA) has appointed Kash Pandya as chief executive officer at the company.

Pandya’s role came into effect on July 13 this year and he replaces co-founder Chuck Green who will become the company’s executive chairman.

Previously, Pandya served as managing director at Aggreko International with responsibility for Africa, South America, Central America, India, Asia, Australasia and the Middle East, and he has also worked for Johnston Group.

“[Pandya] not only brings with him significant experience in leading multi-country operations emerging markets, but also his expertise in driving growth through customer-orientated services,” Green said.

“He will be a great asset in taking HTA’s growth strategy forward and enabling us to focus on our core purposes of optimising network performance for our customer while expanding their coverage and improving their quality of service.”

During his four years at Aggreko, Pandya expanded the company’s international business and oversaw launches in more than 10 African countries.

“I am very excited to be joining HTA,” Pandya said. “Chuck and the team have built an incredible business with unrivalled expertise in owning and managing tower assets across Africa and I look forward to working with them to help fulfil both the Continent’s and the company’s potential.”
