Sprint appoints Roger Solé SVP for Hispanic unit

Sprint has appointed Roger Solé, former TIM Brasil CMO, in a dual role of SVP for the Hispanic market and SVP of innovation.

Solé, who will report to CEO Marcelo Claure, assumes a newly created role to lead all functions in Sprint’s Hispanic business unit which it sees as one of the fastest growing segments in the US. On the innovation front, the operator said Solé brings years of experience in introducing products and services.

Solé will also serve as president of Sprint Puerto Rico, its “hub for Sprint’s Latin creativity and innovation”.

“Sprint is committed to being a market leader in the Hispanic segment. Attracting world-class talent like Roger to lead this newly created business unit shows our commitment to this effort. This is a critically important position for Sprint, and I believe we have hired the right person for the job,” said Claure.

“Roger is known as one of the industry’s leading innovators and has a proven record at TIM and with Telefónica's Brazilian operator, Vivo. As we face more saturation in the marketplace, innovation will set us apart,” he added.

Solé joins from TIM Brasil where he was CMO for three years. Prior to that, he led innovation for six years at Vivo (Telefónica Brasil) where he focussed on building unique value propositions for the high-value customer segments.
