Thailand’s 4G auction to be held at end of year

Thailand’s telecoms regulator has confirmed that it will auction 4G spectrum in November and December of this year.

The auction, which has been postponed since the military government came into power in May 2014, aims to raise at least $2 billion in state revenues according to Reuters.

Operators Advanced Info Service (AIS), Total Access Communication (TAC) and True Corp are all expected to bid for the 4G licences.

The regulator is set to auction two licences of 1800MHz spectrum on November 11 and two licences for 900MHz spectrum on December 15.
