Japan’s KDDI divests stake in Inmarsat

KDDI Corporation has sold its entire 4.85% stake in Inmarsat, raising approximately £183 million in the offering.

The Japanese company sold its 21.74 million shares in Inmarsat for 840 pence per share in the accelerated bookbuilding process.

Nomura International is acting as sole bookrunner.

In September KDDI invested $270 million in the construction of two data centres in Japan for its data centre subsidiary, Telehouse. The investment is said to help meet the increasing demand for data centre space in Japan’s metro markets.
