Protto will also take on the position of general manager at the telecoms infrastructure provider, and previous roles include those at Telecom Italia and Verizon Business.
Most recently, Protto was head of international business telecommunications at Deutsche Telekom’s T-Systems.
As well as announcing Protto’s appointment, the board at Retelit has revealed a new board of directors, chaired by Dario Pardi.
In August 2013, Retelit partnered with Ciena to upgrade its Italian network.
