Global Cloud Xchange to support Tokyo Stock Exchange

Global Cloud Xchange (GCX) is to provide international connectivity services for Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE).

The move will see TSE become part of its arrownet-Global partner programme - a network connecting trading participation and users - and will offer direct connections to JPX co-location facilities.

“We look forward to collaborating with JPX by providing global financial customers with end to end connectivity solutions across our global subsea network infrastructure which covers major financial centers worldwide,” said Fabrizio Civitarese, president, Asia Pacific, GCX. “Full ownership of our network ensures higher quality, redundancy and security for JPX customers.”

The move marks a period of major transition for the company formerly known as Reliance Globalcom.

This year the company embarked on an aggressive network expansion in order to support the new cloud platform, launching a new trans-Pacific cable linking Tokyo to Silicon Valley in the US and deploying a new direct route between Mumbai in India and Singapore.

It now plans to transform over 20 of its facilities by mid 2015 into"cloud nodes", which will align with an automated orchestration layer in its network.
