Nokia Networks appoints MEA head

Nokia Networks has appointed Bernard Najm as VP and head of its business in the Middle East and Africa, effective December 15.

Najm leaves his position as head of sub-region, SKIL – which comprises Saudi Arabi, Kuwait, Iraw and Levant (Lebanon, Jordan and Syria) – and will be based in Dubai.

“I welcome Bernard Najm as head of the region, and I am confident that with his strong track record in customer relationship and deep understanding of the regional market, he will drive the business to the next level, tapping into the region’s growth potential,” said Ashish Chowdhary, EVP of Asia and MEA at Nokia Networks.

“He is a team player and brings with him proven management expertise as well as sales and negotiation skills. He has played a vital role in growing revenue and profitability in his current and previous roles."

Najm has been with the Finnish vendor since 1996 and has held a number of senior management roles in countries across Europe and the Middle East.

Najm takes over from Igor Leprince, who has been appointed EVP of the company’s global services unit, and Najm will continue to lead the sub-region SKIL until a new head is appointed.
