Dimension Data acquires two technology firms

Technology firm Dimension Data has acquired two privately owned companies, Agile Business Solutions and Xpedia Fusion, according to local reports.

Consultancy firm Agile Business Solutions specialises in the implementation, maintenance and support of Oracle Human Capital Management systems, and Xpedia Fusion is an Oracle ERP and BSS provider. The amount they were sold for is undisclosed.

The acquisitions are expected to broaden Dimension Data’s client base to include those in education, telecommunications and financial services, as well as provide the company with 72 Oracle experts.

“The acquisition of Agile-Xpedia is an investment in skills and expertise, and gives us increased capability and resources to support clients, and our growth,” said Donovan Lawrence, executive for application services for Dimension Data MEA. “The acquisition of Agile-Xpedia accelerates our ability to drive both IT-as-a-Service and IT Outsourcing into the MEA market.”

Both Agile and Xpedia will be integrated into the Dimension Data offices, and will continue to offer their existing services to their existing clients.

Dimension Data has made a number of acquisitions this year, including French IT firm NextiraOne in February 2014 and the business assets from South African service provider MWeb Connect later in September.
