Coriant launches SDN solution portfolio

Coriant has launched an SDN solution portfolio which claims to leverage its expertise in packet optical transport, mobile backhaul and cloud networking.

The Coriant Transcend SDN Solution is said to utilise SDN and NFV technologies to provide a programming environment and open interfaces that enable monetisation of network assets.

It targets enterprises, claiming to enable them to introduce new functions and applications provided by vendors, third-party developers or service providers.

Coriant has worked alongside other partners involved in data centre connectivity, mobile backhaul and IP/optical transport infrastructure for the portfolio.

"An SDN-based solution transforms today's rigid transport infrastructure into a highly programmable network, one that is just as flexible, efficient and seamlessly scalable as data centre computing and storage resources," stated Stu Benington, VP of the Cloud and SDN Business Unit for Coriant.
