Cyan and Kenton group enter SDN/NFV partnership

Cyan and network access specialists Kenton Group, have signed a partnership to provide 100G networks with SDN/NFV to European and Middle East customers.

The deal will see US vendor Cyan deploy its SDN and NFV solution, the blue Planet orchestration platform, on Kenton’s network, enabling it to deliver more scalable packet aggregation and transport capabilities.

“After evaluating many of the leading 100G suppliers, only Cyan offered a product set that can cope with the move to SDN and NFV in the packet-optical space which is easy to implement and manage,” said Lee Palmer, commercial director at the Kenton Group.

“With Cyan Blue Planet management tools the whole solution is quick to deploy and easy to manipulate to meet the end customers’ requirements.”

The Kenton Group said in a statement that it had selected Cyan’s solution as it complemented its portfolio and had the ability to meet the growing demand for 100G network.

The move also allows Cyan to expand its footprint in Europe and the Middle East.

“The combination of our network transformation solutions and The Kenton Group’s ability to deliver unparallel customer services presents Cyan with a huge opportunity to strengthen operations within the European marketplace,” said Paul Couturier, GM and VP of sales, EMEA, at Cyan.

In February this year, Cyan announced upgrades for two of its solutions, expected to be available at the end of this year's first quarter.
