NSN opens Myanmar branches

Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) has today announced the opening of two offices in Yangon, Myanmar.

The permanent branches in Myanmar’s former capital will enhance NSN’s presence in the country, and better equip the network vendor to serve domestic operators.

“Myanmar’s communications industry is evolving at a rapid pace, and NSN remains committed to hasten this evolution by providing its technology and expertise to local operators,” said Raman Vattumalai, country head of Myanmar at NSN.

“The decision to open modern and fully-equipped offices in Yangon underlines our promise to deliver best-in-class services to our customers.”

NSN expects its new offices to help the government of Myanmar achieve its target of providing network coverage to 90% of the country by 2015.

In December last year, NSN partnered with Ooredoo Myanmar– which secured spectrum in the country’s auctionin June 2013 – for its 3G roll-out.
