AT&T signs connectivity services deal with Schott

AT&T has signed a three-year deal worth $8 million to provide global networking services to Schott, a German developer and manufacturer of industrial glass products.

As part of the agreement, AT&T will provide a high-speed managed Ethernet LAN to connect Schott’s production plants, data centres and corporate offices. It is also said to have boosted Schott’s communications network in key locations in Germany.

Schott is headquartered in Mainz, Germany and has 16,000 employees spanning 35 countries in Asia, North America and Europe.

"The network is a critical tool for Schott. We are a German company but more than 70% of our sales are made outside Germany. It is vital to have a reliable and highly secure network that reaches almost anywhere in the world,” said Andreas Beeres, VP of corporate information technology at Schott.
