Beeline to launch 4G network in Cambodia

Cambodian mobile operator Beeline has announced plans to launch 4G services in the country’s capital city, Phnom Penh, by the end of the year.

Chairman of Beeline’s parent company Sotelco, Huot Vanthan, said that he hopes the launch of LTE services will increase Beeline’s share in the wireless market.

“We all know that the mobile network industry market is very narrowed now,” he said.

He believes that in order to launch the most reliable network possible, the company must take its time to develop the service.

Vanthan purchased Beeline in April 2013, from Dutch telecoms group VimpelCom.

In January this year, Smart Mobile launched its 4G network in selected locations around Phnom Penh.
