Interoute launches VDC in Hong Kong

Interoute launched a virtual data centre (VDC) in Hong Kong on Friday 4 April.

The VDC is designed to support global enterprises with a presence in Asia, enabling them fast access to applications and data stored in the Interoute cloud.

Interoute has also integrated its automated MPLS network, meaning customers will be able to move data and applications around between Interoute VDC zones at no extra cost.

“Opening the new Interoute VDC zone in Hong Kong provides a gateway to European enterprises looking to reach customers in Asia, and likewise, Asian enterprises looking to reach Europe,” said Matthew Finnie, CTO of Interoute.

“For the first time, we are offering a cloud computing solution to the Asian market that is fast, resilient and covered by one SLA for both networking and cloud computing.”

Other Interoute VDC zones include Amsterdam, Berlin, Geneva, London, Paris and Milan, and Interoute expects the Interoute VDC in Hong Kong to provide high-quality connectivity to global enterprises operating in Asia.

By combining its MPLS network into the Hong Kong VDC, the company hopes to create a fully networked cloud with faster speeds, greater resiliency and more security.
