Ziggo replaces CCO

Ziggo has today announced the appointment of Hendrik de Groot as chief commercial officer, to replace Marcel Nijhof.

Nijhof will officially leave his position on March 1 2014 following a mutual agreement by the management board as Ziggo moves into new phase of business.

De Groot has been ZIggo’s managing director of business-to-business at Ziggo since January 2010, and his position as CCO will be effective of April 18 2014.

He will also become a member of the management board at the company and René Obermann, CEO at Ziggo, said he was pleased to welcome de Groot to his new role.

“Ziggo will benefit greatly from his proven track record business success and leadership.”

Before joining Ziggo, de Groot held senior positions at COLT and Vodafone, as well as MCI International before it was acquired by Verizon in 2005.

De Groot takes on the role at a crucial time for the company which is being acquired by John Malone’s Liberty Global.
