EE reaches 2 million 4G customers

UK mobile operator EE has reached 2 million customers on its 4G LTE network in the country, Reuters reports.

Just 14 months after becoming the first player in the UK market to offer 4G services – and four months after hitting the one million mark – EE now has 2 million subscribers for the service.

The sign up rate is reportedly the fastest in the world outside of South Korea and the company’s chief executive, Olaf Swantee, said it was having particular success in converting its existing subscribers to 4G.

EE launched its 4G LTE network ahead of rivals O2 and Vodafone which launched their own services simultaneously in August last year.
