Philip Marnick, Ofcom

UK communications regulator Ofcom has appointed Philip Marnick as group director in charge of spectrum.

Marnick leaves his position as CTO of UK Broadband for the role and has 27 years of experience in the wireless communications industry.

He has previously held senior positions at companies including O2, BT and SoftBank (then J-Phone) and is also a member of the Ofcom Spectrum Advisory Board.

Marnick will lead Ofcom’s Spectrum Policy Group, which is responsible for setting and implementing the strategy for managing spectrum, including clearing, awarding and licensing it.

His position at Ofcom will be effective from November of this year.
