Verizon’s IP solution running from Equinix data centres

Verizon has partnered with Equinix to offer its Private IP services out of 16 of Equinix’s International Business Exchange (IBX) data centres worldwide.

Verizon’s Private IP solution is offered in 147 countries across six continents, and the partnership is designed to provide enterprise customers with greater access to secure and reliable, global communications solutions.

“Verizon and Equinix are market leaders, and the new alliance we have formed will provide customers of both companies the foundation to transform their businesses," said John Stratton, president at Verizon Enterprise Solutions.

"Whether it is e-commerce applications, big data, media and entertainment or cloud computing, enterprises need to quickly and securely access and move information from various points around the world."

Verizon also offers reporting and monitoring services with its Private IP solution and Equinix hopes the partnership to enhance its customer service for end users.

"By leveraging Verizon's Private IP Service and Equinix data centre and interconnection services, customers can count on high levels of security, reliability and performance as they grow their businesses and expand into new markets," said Steve Smith, CEO and president at Equinix.

"This will also enable customers to use Verizon's network to reach more than 300 cloud service providers inside Equinix data centres."

In May this year, Verizon deployed its 100GE technology to the edge routers of its Private IP network.
