Tata signs voice agreement with Vonage

Tata Communications has signed a five-year strategic voice sourcing agreement with over-the-top VoIP provider Vonage Holdings Corp.

Under the terms of the agreement, Tata will provide Vonage with access to its global network and make further investments in systems, tools and processes to improve voice call quality.

The India-based operator said such resources will serve to aid operational efficiency and deliver better international call quality for customers.

“Vonage is a recognised leader in delivering an innovative, feature-rich, voice experience to meet the needs of its customers,” said Michel Guyot, president, voice solutions at Tata. “We are very proud of this opportunity to expand our partnership with Vonage by offering them the breadth and scope of our global network.”

Ed Mulligan, VP of carrier operations at Vonage said Tata’s extensive reach, and the quality of its customer service provided the company with the confidence to enter into the agreement. “They understand the needs of next-generation and OTT providers and we look forward to our collective success.”

Tata provides a global Tier 1 backbone with over 400 PoPs and carriers over one billion voice minutes per week, with over 30 voice strategic sourcing partnerships.
