Tango and Nokia Siemens Networks launch 4G services in Luxembourg

Luxembourg-based telco operator Tango has utilised Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) technology to unveil 4G mobile broadband.

NSN’s Liquid Core network and Circuit Switched FallBack (CSFB) systems have been implemented in the launch which claims to be the first 4G offering in the country.

The Liquid Core network is designed to replace Tango’s outdated equipment, and the CSFB system allows smartphone users to experience ultra-fast data services.

“We recently launched two services that are a first for Luxembourg: 4G ultra-fast data and...congestion-free services from our existing GSM and 3G networks,” said Didier Rouma, CEO at Tango.

“Nokia Siemens Networks helped us to achieve these important goals. The company’s core network powered the launch of 4G services and to increase overall network capacity to meet the challenge of rising data traffic.”

NSN has also provided subscriber data management, allowing Tango to offer personalised data tariffs.

“Without differentiating between data services, it becomes difficult for operators to efficiently manage the growth in network traffic,” said Filip Rommelaere, head of customer team Begacom Group at Nokia Siemens Networks.

Nokia Siemens Networks has signed a number of network upgrade deals in the past year, most recently with BH Telecom earlier this month.
