BT wins National Bank of Abu Dhabi contract

BT has won a contract to connect the global operations of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD).

Under the deal BT will use its Connect portfolio of managed network services to link NBAD-centralised IT services from a data centre in the UAE to its 12 international branches worldwide. The contract is part of a core banking centralisation project at NBAD’s UAE headquarters.

“This deal is a clear sign of the trust global financial players put in our expertise. It also further consolidates our position as the networked IT services provider of choice for financial institutions in the Middle East and beyond,” said Kevin Taylor, president Asia, Middle East and Africa & president Global Logistics at BT.

NBAD previously selected BT Radianz Cloud services for its trading floor in the UAE.

“Already one of the leading banks in the UAE, NBAD's vision is to be the world’s best Arab bank. To realise this vision we are committed to provide our customers with the best services, understand their needs, and dedicate all our energies to serving them. We want to continue to be the bank of choice for our customers around the world and the contract with BT will cement our position as a leading global bank with the best and most secure connectivity for our operations," said Hossam El Kobrosy, director, IT Infrastructure at NBAD.
