The platform will enable the delivery of high-bandwidth triple play services to residential and business subscribers.
2,000 homes will initially be served in the municipality of Nea, and Forthnet will be able to deliver FTTH services, with ADTRAN claiming the development puts Athens alongside other high services density European FTTH deployments.
Forthnet provides broadband capabilities and bundles a package of sports, movies and entertainment, including telephony over its DSL network.
Through the ADTRAN GPON solution, Forthnet is able to migrate its customer base to FTTH services, and enable capacity and bandwidth scale for media rich services.
