Ericsson launches global service centre in China

Swedish equipment vendor Ericsson has inaugurated a global service centre in Xi’an, China, including its first Global Network Operations Centre (GNOC) and standardised service delivery centre in East Asia.

The facility is designed to meet demand for managed services and network operation capabilities and will provide standardised service delivery globally.

The Xi’an site adds to Ericsson’s existing presence in China in Beijing, Wuhan, Guangzhou and Dalian, and employs 300 ICT and services professionals.

"We are happy to see Ericsson's fourth GNOC established in the city of Xi'an, where we have been doing business for more than a decade. I believe the vibrant economic development of western China, as well as the highly concentrated ICT talent pool here in Xi'an, will support the rapid development of this new centre. This will have obvious benefits for the global customers we are going to serve remotely from this location,” said Zhao Juntao, president at Ericsson China.

The service centres are designed to maximise efficiencies of scale and meet the needs of operators which are looking to improve network performance and end-user experience while reducing operational costs.

Ericsson also has service centres in India, Mexico and Romania.
