From today the carrier is offering HD voice calls between the two countries having interconnected the mobile networks of its two operators.
The HD voice interconnection was carried out by an international project team, bringing together France Telecom Group, Moldovan and Romanian staff.
“Mobile HD voice offers noticeably better audio quality, and brings a real satisfaction to Orange clients. Almost four million customers have switched to HD voice in 14 countries, compared to one million customers a year ago. This is a true commercial success and demonstrates Orange’s commitment to give our customers the best mobile experience available”, said Paul-François Fournier, EVP of Technocentre at France Telecom-Orange.
Orange is also pursuing a strategy to make HD voice more accessible having first launched services in Moldova in 2009. The carrier now offers mobile HD voice services in 14 countries with further launches in Africa and the Middle East scheduled by the end of 2012.
