Dimension Data launches global cloud partner programme

ICT solutions provider Dimension Data has launched a global cloud partnership initiative which is aimed at allowing cloud services to launch more rapidly in the market.

The initiative allows service providers, educational institutions, government agencies and trading communities to create an ecosystem of cloud service providers that can exchange cloud traffic. The company says the platform serves as a response from service provider demand to offer cloud-based services.

Dimension Data’s Managed Cloud Platform is a development beyond its Compute-as-a-Service (CaaS), launched in February 2012, which offers enterprise-class cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS).

“The Dimension Data OneCloud Partner Programme helps our partners bring their own cloud services to market more quickly,” said Steve Nola, CEO at Dimension Data’s cloud business unit. “Building, integrating and launching a new cloud service is time-consuming, costly and a new journey for many of our clients.”

After the initial phase, companies involved can achieve an alliance member status. This allows partners to further expand their cloud footprint across multiple regions, if they provide consistent and compatible services through the shared infrastructure.
