Hibernia Atlantic delivers subsea cable connection between North America and Ireland.

Hibernia Atlantic has announced an agreement with co-location data centre provider Interxion to host a PoP for its high-capacity fibre optic cable system at Interxion’s Dublin 2(DUB2) data centre.

The companies claim that the link offers the only direct, submarine cable connection, between North America and Ireland. The Hibernia Atlantic link into the data centre is designed specifically to cater to North American corporations in Ireland and foreign investment organisations that require fast routes into and throughout Ireland.

“We are proud of our partnership with Interxion and feel that this new POP will add increased connectivity options to its customers based in Ireland and abroad.” said Fergus Innes, VP of Sales, EMEA of Hibernia Atlantic.

Interxion’s Dublin data centre offers access to more than 25 carriers. Its infrastructure includes 2N UPS power, N+1 cooling and advanced alarm and monitoring systems.
