Deutsche Telekom and Sify partner to deliver IP and VPN services worldwide

Deutsche Telekom ICSS and Sify Technologies, an Indian network and IT services company, have partnered to provide IP and VPN services in Europe, India and other emerging markets.

The companies said they will use each others’ submarine, terrestrial and local networks, as well as regional partnerships with other service providers, to exploit emerging markets in south Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Head of Deutsche Telekom ICSS, Holger Magnussen described the deal as a win win for customers: “This partnership overall will provide more competitiveness in the market from the combined offering of our partnership,” he claimed.

Sify said it expects that the partnership to benefit growing markets such as India as the same time as giving the company a greater international footprint.

Raju Vegesna, chairman and MD of Sify, said: “The Sify- Deutsche Telekom ICSS alliance will enable us to bring matured quality services to the Indian market and extend the same across global growth markets in south Asia, the Middle East and Africa.“

Sify recently announced that a submarine cable system, constructed in partnership with Middle East operator GBI, is ready to land in India and go live in the second half of this year.
