The Czech Telecommunication Office (CTU) has said it will not announce results for the sale of 4G frequencies today as expected.
No reason was given for why the
delay has occurred, or why the auction has been left open. It
also did not set a new date for when the auction of 800MHz,
1800MHz or 2600MHz will end.
The deadline will be dependent on "further interest of the
auction participants in the offered frequency" said a
statement.
According to Reuters, interest from as early as
September was generated from across Europe, with German
operator T-Mobile, Telefónica’s Czech
unit Telefónica CR and UK telco giant Vodafone all
making bids.
It is expected the auction will raise billions of Czech Crowns
for the government.
