Digicel exec re-elected as CANTO chairman

Julian Wilkins, government relations and public affairs director at Digicel Group, has been re-elected as chairman of the Caribbean Association of National Telecommunications (CANTO).

Wilkins was first elected as chairman of CANTO, the leading authority for shaping information and communication in the Caribbean, in 2015. News of the re-election took place last Tuesday at CANTO’s AGM in Curaçao.

“Reimaging ICT is high on CANTO’s agenda and focuses on ICT connectivity – fostering an environment which stimulates the creativity so necessary for the development of our national and regional markets,” said Wilkins.

“This is where we look to our governments and regulators to create the right environment to incentivise investment in the Caribbean region. We are in the process of transforming the organisation and this work must continue.”

Wilkins, who previously worked at BT, joined Digicel Trinidad and Tobago in 2006 as operations and maintenance manager and transferred to Digicel Group, legal and regulatory in 2008.
