The upgrade will enable remote peering provider IX Reach to offer more competitive remote peering solutions into LINX so networks, CDNs and ISPs of all sizes can benefit, according to the internet exchange.

The upgrade continues a long-standing relationship between IX Reach LINX and was the first reseller to take a 100GE port with the British internet exchange. It was also the first network to offer remote peering at their US exchange, LINX NoVA.

In November 2017, PCCW Global and a revived company, IX Reach, split the assets of Console Connect in a pair of separate, but unannounced deals. PCCW Global acquired Console Connect’s brand, platform, and technology team, but its network assets and customer contracts were hived off and put under separate ownership under the name IX Reach.
