Liquid Telecom South Africa appoints new CEO

Liquid Telecom has named Reshaad Sha as CEO of Liquid Telecom South Africa, effective as of 1 June 2018.

In his new role, Sha, the South African national will oversee the growth of digital services and the deployment of enhanced network services for enterprises and consumers across the country.

Commenting on Sha’s appointment, Nic Rudnick, Group CEO of Liquid Telecom, said: “We’re delighted to have found such a talented and skilled individual to fill this role. Reshaad’s entrepreneurial spirit and dynamic leadership make him the perfect addition to the Liquid Telecom Group as we continue to deliver on our vision of building Africa’s digital future.”

Prior to joining Liquid Sha held the position of CEO at SqwidNet, an open access Internet of Things network operator. Before that he served for five years as chief strategy officer and executive director of the open access fibre-optic company Dark Fibre Africa. In addition to this Sha has extensive international management experience having worked for the likes of Cisco and LogicaCMG.

To date Garth Schooling, Liquid Telecom’s managing executive of new business development, has acted as interim CEO since former CEO Kyle Whitehall left the position in March, and Schooling will remain in the role until Sha assumes the position in June.

Only last month Liquid Telecom partnered with Metaswitch to expand the voice and Unified Communication and Collaboration (UC&C) services of the group. The voice service expansion will pan six countries in Africa and will include the following Metaswitch solutions, including: its Clearwater vIMS Core, Perimeta vSBC, Service Assurance Server (SAS) and Multiservice Telephony Application Servers (MTAS).
