Kosc Télécom to start taking wholesale fibre orders from April

Kosc Télécom has confirmed that its B2B wholesale fibre offering, Fibre Professionnelle, will start taking orders from 9 April 2018.

Since launching its connectivity-as-a-service (CaaS) model, the company has added capabilities to the service which includes allowing its customers to manage, through a single system and interface, the entire lifecycle of its services. In addition, because of its copper line identifier, it verify whether or not a customer is eligible for fibre and can offer copper or fibre capabilities using the same data.

"The implementation of a suitable reference system is complicated because it involves bringing the bases of data controlled by Orange for copper with those used for fibre-to-the-home," explains Antoine Fournier, managing director of Kosc Télécom. "We worked pragmatically and independently to make these databases reliable, before integrating them into our CaaS solution. This approach is part of our commitment to provide our operator customers with all the tools to develop their activity in an agile and reactive way. From our solution, they can seamlessly manage their customer access to the Kosc network, as if they were their own network.”

Kosc says that because of the need for fast transitions in the market, being able to offer fibre capabilities using a copper line identifier is key to migrating companies from copper to fibre. The company goes on to say that the continued lack of standardisation makes this transition complex.

Kosc originally launched its wholesale offering when it signed a wholesale access agreement with Orange back in August 2017. At the time Kosc said that it would look to start offering its own set of fibre services in early 2018, making this announcement in time for its timeline.

In a statement Kosc also confirmed that it wants to become the third biggest national operator and achieve a turnover of €100 million in five years. To do this, the company says it will invest heavily in upgrading its infrastructure as well as its CaaS solution to bring the best quality of service to its customers.
