NTT Data, the systems integration division of NTT and Sister Company to NTT Communications, has announced a number of structural leadership changes.

The move comes in an attempt to consolidate the three NTT Data Group companies in EMEA and Latin America: NTT Data EMEA, itelligence and everis.

Of all these changes, the biggest news is that Benito Vázquez, the current CEO of everis, has been appointed deputy head of NTT Data’s EMEA and Latin America region, effective immediately. As well as speeding up to the consolidation process, the company says that Vázquez’s new role will provide clarity in the leadership structure and drive accountability for growth and optimisation across the region. In his new role Vázquez will report directly Koji Ito, senior vice president and head of NTT Data’s EMEA and Latin America regions.

Koji Ito, senior vice president and head of NTT DATA’s EMEA and Latin America region, said: “We are excited about the energy, passion and leadership capabilities Benito Vázquez brings to accelerate the unification across the three NTT DATA Group companies in the region”.

Other leadership changes include Patrizio Mapelli, the current CEO of the NTT Data Group EMEA, who is due to retire with no operational responsibilities. When officially stands down as of 1 April 2018 he will assume the role of senior advisor, as well as chairman of NTT Data Italia.

“I want to sincerely thank Fernando Francés and Patrizio Mapelli for their leadership, commitment and contributions in growing their respective businesses,” said Kaz Nishihata, representative director and senior executive vice president of NTT Data Corporation. “Because of their achievements, we are now positioned to take the next step in building a unified organisation across the EMEA and Latin America region.”

In addition, Eduardo Serra will be named president of everis, succeeding Fernando Francés who will be retiring. Fritz Hoderlein, who is currently responsible for the everis business across EMEA, will assume the role of CEO for the company, a role previously held by Vázquez. Vázquez will continue to serve on the everis board of directors.

Norbert Rotter, will continue in his current role as CEO of itelligence and NTT Data Business Solutions group.

“I am truly honoured to be inheriting such a strong business complemented by a strong leadership team and deep and diverse professionals,” commented Vázquez. “This is a great opportunity to help NTT DATA take this next step toward becoming a trusted partner for our global clients, and firmly believe we can deliver even more value as a unified organization. I offer my full commitment to achieve this, together with the support of my colleagues.”
