Claro uses iBasis IPX infrastructure for 3G and 4G data roaming services

iBasis has successfully migrated its GRX and LTE data services enabling America Movil’s Central American operators, under the Claro brand, to enhance its data roaming services using iBasis’ IPX.

America Movil’s Central America operators - Claro Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, and iBasis have used their respective engineering and operational expertise in deploying and processing services to carry out this migration without causing service disruption to the end-user.

“We already experienced great services for LTE data roaming so we wanted to enhance our relationship with iBasis for GRX. iBasis is a trusted partner who demonstrates excellent support, responsiveness and always find innovative ways to reduce roaming services management complexity. The outstanding coordination between both parties enabled us to migrate our services in record time” said José Cervantes, director of international relations of Claro Central América.

In addition, Claro mobile operators will benefit from the analytics capability of InVision and service management capabilities that come with using iBasis IPX services for 3G and 4G. iBasis gives its customers the insights to anticipate and address roaming traffic surges or regional expansion to support dynamic data roaming growth, all to guarantee the best user experience for inbound and outbound roamers.
